The Variax 300 can change instantly from a classic single-coil solid-body electric to a richly detailed acoustic 12-string at the flick of a switch. A five way pickup switch, plus a rotary knob, are all you need to access the magic of Variax. In addition you'll find two Custom positions, allowing you to store up to 10 of your own configurations for instant access, a really nice touch when you want to whip through the models on stage, or take a special solo with a unique guitar model, then drop back into rhythm mode. String vibrations are detected by a hexaphonic bridge pickup and are converted directly into digital signals that are processed through the stored instrument models, applying unique tonal characteristics. The signal is then converted back to analog, so Variax can be plugged directly into any electric guitar amplifier.
The Variax 300 guitar has a great body to match the brain. A maple neck with Indian rosewood fingerboard plays fast and silky. The guitar has a 12 inch fingerboard radius and 25-1/2 inch scale length with 22 medium profile frets. The Variax 300 represents the most affordable way to get 25 different electric and acoustic guitars in a single instrument.

WHY ARE THERE TWO PRICES?The prices reflect the level of service we can offer depending on how you buy from us:
When you buy onlineIf you click-and-buy a guitar from our website, we will offer what every other mail-order company does – boxed warehouse stock sent by courier which has passed the manufacturer’s quality control and is covered under their warranty. You can find out more about warranties and returns on the Delivery page.
When you buy in-storeBeing made from natural materials, every guitar is different. Nothing beats trying a range of models, including the exact guitar you intend to purchase so you know its right for
you.
Before we sell a guitar, we carry out a 16 point inspection, making skilled observations and adjustments to ensure it sounds its best, plays easily and is finished to a high standard. This often picks up on things that the factory’s quality control missed and we return up to 20% of our shop stock because it fails to meet our standards.
To ensure you get the most out of your new guitar and to keep it in top condition, we also include our FREE accessories and service package worth over £185. This includes important extras such as a carry case, digital tuner, spare strings, strap and plectrums so you’re ‘ready to play’, as well as a FREE quarterly service, where we inspect and adjust your guitar and offer free labour if you want a restring. After 12 months we offer a full service with free strings, and the opportunity to extend your service plan at a reduced rate.
Add to this the other facilities we offer, including finance options, part exchanges and a loan instrument if yours is in for repair, buying in-store definitely gives the best value for money.
