Product Description
The Yamaha APX500II electro acoustic guitar is a slim bodied guitar ideal for use on stage or in the studio, or as a comfortable alternative where volume isn't everything.

The APX’s thin-line body combines incredible comfort, easy top-fret access and a sound perfectly suited to on-stage use with bright, clear mids, balanced highs and controlled lows. The body shape and size also makes the Yamaha APX500II a popular acoustic guitar for electric guitarists, making the transition much easier.

The world’s best-selling acoustic electric guitar, the 500-series embodies the pure spirit of Yamaha guitars – the perfect balance of performance, value and dependability. The new APX500 model features an all-new pickup system with a more powerful, dynamic tone and upgraded cosmetics that combine on-stage attitude with refined, timeless good looks.

The System 65 pickup features an under-saddle piezo pickup developed by Yamaha. Controls include a 3-band equalizer, an adjustable mid-range frequency control, and a precision chromatic tuner.

Yamaha electric acoustic guitars have consistently used piezo pickups, although these tended to overreact to changes in attack, which in turn caused distortion. To oevrcome this, the new pickup was designed with a multilayer structure consisting of six layers of different materials that dampens excessive vibration from the topboard while picking up small resonances to achieve ideal sensitivity and outstanding dynamic balance. Also, because the pickup is fitted directly beneath the topboard, it functions as a transducer attached to the body.

WHY ARE THERE TWO PRICES?
The prices reflect the level of service we can offer depending on how you buy from us:

When you buy online
If you click-and-buy a guitar from our website, we will offer what every other mail-order company does – boxed warehouse stock sent by courier which has passed the manufacturer’s quality control and is covered under their warranty. You can find out more about warranties and returns on the Delivery page.

When you buy in-store
Being made from natural materials, every guitar is different. Nothing beats trying a range of models, including the exact guitar you intend to purchase so you know its right for you.
Before we sell a guitar, we carry out a 16 point inspection, making skilled observations and adjustments to ensure it sounds its best, plays easily and is finished to a high standard. This often picks up on things that the factory’s quality control missed and we return up to 20% of our shop stock because it fails to meet our standards.
To ensure you get the most out of your new guitar and to keep it in top condition, we also include our FREE accessories and service package worth over £185. This includes important extras such as a carry case, digital tuner, spare strings, strap and plectrums so you’re ‘ready to play’, as well as a FREE quarterly service, where we inspect and adjust your guitar and offer free labour if you want a restring. After 12 months we offer a full service with free strings, and the opportunity to extend your service plan at a reduced rate.
Add to this the other facilities we offer, including finance options, part exchanges and a loan instrument if yours is in for repair, buying in-store definitely gives the best value for money.
